Hi I’m Chuck and I like to eat.  I was raised in the midwest, north of Chicago in the burbs, eating pretty much only meat and potatoes and hot dogs, with the occasional spaghetti and gyros pita’s thrown in for effect.  I call carbonated beverages “pop” not “soda” and still say the best Pizza is from Chicago.

Anyway, the point is that I’m timid to try new food, but when I do try something new, I usually love it.  I’ve recently made it around to trying Thai, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Mexican and also Baja food so far and I’m learning the more stuff I try the more I’m interested in the culture and people from where the food comes.  I am by no means a traditional food critic and won’t be writing for Zagat anytime soon and I don’t want to.  I try to regularly contribute to Yelp, as it helps me try new places, and have taken some pictures along the way but I’m ready to write about my food ventures.  I hope to reach out to local food bloggers and try their favorites and get to know them through their specialties and/or cultures and food.

I love watching the Food Network and specifically Andrew Zimmern from Bizarre Foods, Anthony Bourdain from No Reservations and Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives with Guy Fieri.  Those guys are my inspiration in this venture and hopefully someday I’ll run into them at some crazy, but good, street vendor or tiny hole in the wall that’s known only to the locals.
